As data continues to spread across multiple platforms, we are happy to announce that ElephantDrive customers using Linux now have access to ElephantDrive’s enterprise-class backup software. With a simple package installation, Linux users will have automatic backup tools for any and all of their valuable files. Also, the first 100 new paid accounts running Linux will enjoy their first two months absolutely free!

At ElephantDrive we knew it was only a matter of time before customers asked us to include support for their Linux laptops and servers. While personal computers running Linux comprise a relatively small portion of the market, more than half of the world’s websites are served by Linux machines. As such, ElephantDrive’s digital storage backup client will now serve millions of laptops, desktops, and servers that are underserved by the other cloud storage providers.

As a first step towards serving the Linux community, 32-bit and 64-bit packages are available for Debian-based distributions. If you use Debian, Ubuntu, or Linux Mint, that means you!  Support for CentOS, Fedora, and RedHat will come next with the release of .rpm packages.
